We are seeking an Accountant to lead and coordinate all financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and accounts receivable and payable functions. This individual will play a key role in ensuring all accounting procedures align with generally accepted accounting principles while also having the opportunity to grow into a Finance Manager or Controller position over time.

The company recently expanded into a new, modern manufacturing facility located in southeast Charlotte near Matthews, NC.
We are seeking an Accountant to lead and coordinate all financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and accounts receivable and payable functions. This individual will play a key role in ensuring all accounting procedures align with generally accepted accounting principles while also having the opportunity to grow into a Finance Manager or Controller position over time. There is also a strong preference for someone who can take on office management and people-focused responsibilities from the outset.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and manage company financial planning and budgeting processes
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
• Oversee daily financial operations, including cash flow management and expense tracking
• Provide financial analysis and forecasting to support senior leadership decision-making
• Develop cost accounting capabilities by gaining a deep understanding of the manufacturing operation
• Prepare financial analyses to support contract negotiations and investment decisions
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
• Establish and maintain office systems, processes, and procedures to support overall business objectives
• Support Human Resources functions, including recruiting coordination, onboarding, payroll (via external vendor), and fostering a strong company culture; this function may evolve into a dedicated role as the company grows
• Contribute to leadership discussions and assist in shaping company policies and strategic decisions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Strong foundation in accounting principles and practices
• Extensive experience with QuickBooks
• Ability to assess and interpret overall company financial health and strategy
• Experience with financial reporting and analysis
• Proven ability to lead an office environment and operate autonomously
• Interest in long-term growth, with opportunity to move into senior leadership or departmental management roles
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including GAAP
• Experience with automated financial and accounting reporting systems
• Understanding of federal and state financial regulations
• Ability to analyze financial data and produce reports, statements, and projections
• Experience with short- and long-term budgeting, forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively across teams
• A genuine interest in both people and operations, balancing financial expertise with team and office leadership responsibilities
